Not even for all Lithuanians it is easy to write correctly this very rare surname that I inherited. I, Eugenijus Barzdžius [Eu:ge’nius Barz’juice]:, was born in Šiauliai city, Lithuania. Sometimes called by nickname giena.  Meanwhile I was at a secondary school I started more and more to draw at the last pages of my exercise books, until I made a decision that my mother had to write an application for me for an evening art school, which I successfully graduated alongside ordinary school. Right after I began to study BA Academic Art and Graphic Design at Šiauliai university, Lithuania. At the first months there photography was discovered as a passion. While studying at university an opportunity was taken to become better as a young photographer at a local newspaper, and just after a few months later a major national newspaper hired me. After the graduation I emigrated to Denmark where successfully established cooperation between a Lithuanian web production company and several major Danish creative agencies, and then I was back to Vilnius, Lithuania, where I was working for a web production company as sales director and later for an international media agency as interactive communications director. In 2010 I quitted my successful career in web-media branch and became again BA student at University of Wales, Newport, U.K., Documentary Photography course, which graduated in 2013.

2013 05 28 – The winner of PDN Photo Annual 2013 in student’s category. The project ‘Harvest of Wetland‘ is also receiver of the MARTY FORSCHER FELLOWSHIP FUND for outstanding achievements in humanistic photography.

2012 03 29 – Participated in a group exhibition “Moments from Birstonas Jazz 2010″ at Birstonas Jazz 2012 festival, Lithuania.

2012 03 28 – One of four photography students from the University of Wales, Newport  that won the University’s Reginald Salisbury Travel Award, U.K.

2011 09 04 – Project “Killing time” selected for Kaunas Photo Festival 2011 exhibition, Lithuania.

2011 04 10 – 2nd runner up at contest in Portrait category for “The Best Photograph of Groups” at WPPB 2011, Riga, Latvia.

2010 12 01 – Participated in a group exhibition “Open shop”, Newport U.K.

2003 09 01 – My mail-art works exhibited at Siauliai art gallery in collaborated project for artists who have left native town, Lithuania.

2003 05 29 – Personal exhibition in gallery Rozbrat Poznan, Poland.

2003 04 24 – Participated in international Sigismund Urban MAIL ART project „Self portray” Berlin, Germany.

2003 04 12 – Participated in „Keistas menas“ exhibition at Siauliai art gallery, Lithuania.
